If you want to stop.
Here is how a plan ends, what happens to the agent you built, and how to take it with you. Stopping happens in Archie. The only step that goes through us is a refund, and that is one email.
You stop a plan in Archie, and it runs to the end of what you paid for.
Open the Account page, find Your plan, press Manage plan. It runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. What happens after that is one of three things.
| Where you are | What Archie does next |
|---|---|
| Personal, with your own AI key saved | Archie keeps opening. You land on the free tier: every skill and routine at 20 jobs a day, without phone access. Your AI company bills you for the AI, and we charge nothing. A job is one piece of work, and the count starts again at midnight. |
| Personal, with no key saved | Archie asks for one. Getting a key means opening an account with an AI company and putting a card on it, and pasting one puts you in the row above. |
| Archie for Business | Archie asks for a plan. There is no free tier on the business edition: an agent answering a whole team at 20 jobs a day would be a smaller version of the product rather than a trial of it. |
Every agent you made is still there in all three. On the free tier they all keep working, and the free allowance of one agent only stops you adding another.
Fourteen days to ask for your money back.
Email us within 14 days of first starting a plan and we refund it in full. You do not have to say why, and there is nothing to fill in. Guided sessions are the exception: those are hours already spent with you, so they are not refunded. Both are in the Terms.
Nothing on your computer is deleted.
Your agent, what it remembers, your records, your files and your keys are stored on your own computer. We have no access to them and we do not delete them, whether you stop or we do. Picking your plan back up from Archie, rather than through a fresh checkout, puts everything back the way you left it. If anything looks stuck, write to us.
Write your backup before you stop.
The one-file backup below is made from inside Archie, on the Account page under Backups. If a plan has lapsed and Archie is asking for a key or a plan, that page is behind the asking.
So the backup waits until you paste a key or pick the plan back up. Nothing is lost, because the files never left your computer. It is just easier the day before than the day after.
Everything you built, in one file.
Your agents, their skills and routines with the answers and schedules you gave them, what each one remembers about you, your records, your writing style and the conversations. Archie can write one every week while it is open and keep the last three, once you pick a folder for them.
No key or token is in it: those stay in your computer’s own password store, and another computer hands you a list of what to connect again. It is an ordinary, unsealed file, so keep it somewhere you would keep a tax return. It restores into Archie and nothing else reads it. What it carries, and what it cannot →
Disconnecting does not go through us.
Every account you connected comes off from inside Archie, and taking the key off the computer as well is a second, deliberate step in Settings under Saved keys. You can also do it from the other side without involving us at all. Google and Microsoft both let you revoke an app’s access from your own account page, and that works whether or not this company still exists.
If we cease operations, Archie keeps working.
There is a license check, and it is the thing that would strand you if we disappeared. So the Terms make a promise, in these words: “If Otian AI ceases operations, we will publish a final version of Archie that requires no license check, within 30 days of shutting down.”
Until it arrives, the copy on your computer runs for up to 60 days on the last note it was given.
If you are reading this before you start.
If something here is not the answer you needed, write and say which part, and one of the two of us will answer.
