1.10 What a Month of AI Use May Cost
Read by Jack. Pressing play on a video in the library loads YouTube’s player, and YouTube counts that play.Three example months of AI use, measured, and the two things that move your bill most.
What three example months cost, measured
- AI cost for one agent, per month, at Anthropic’s prices of September 12, 2026. Economy and Balanced are Archie’s two quality settings.
- Light, a calendar and a folder, about 6 messages a day: $1 to $2 at Economy, $2 to $5 at Balanced.
- Moderate, calendar and inbox, about 25 messages and 80 emails a day: $21 to $42 at Economy, $22 to $41 at Balanced.
- Heavy, everything connected, about 70 messages and 200 emails a day: $64 to $132 at Economy, $69 to $139 at Balanced.
- These are estimates. Your real bill is on your AI company’s own billing page. How they were measured: the pricing page.

How much will I pay for AI each month?
It depends on how much work your agent does. We measured three example months.
Light use means a connected calendar, a folder of documents, and a few messages each day.
Moderate use adds email and a to-do list, with more messages and a busy inbox.
Heavy use means using those connections and more throughout the day.
The measured cost for each example is below this video.
Two things affect your bill most: how much you use your agent and how much you connect to it. Scheduled tasks add to the total, too.
Choose whether your AI account buys more credit automatically. With that off, your agent stops when the credit runs out. With it on, the account buys more credit so your agent can keep working.
Archie's Account page shows an estimate of your AI spending for the month. Check the AI company's billing page for the actual bill.
That is the end of Level 1. Next: how your agent works.
