1.6 Where Archie Gets Its AI

Read by Jack. Pressing play on a video in the library loads YouTube’s player, and YouTube counts that play.

Which companies build the AI Archie uses, how you pick one, and where the free credits send your messages.

The seven AI companies Archie works with

  • Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, xAI, DeepSeek and Mistral. Another provider, the eighth choice, is for any service that works like OpenAI’s.
  • What each company says about training on what you send, in its own words: the Trust page.

Does Archie make its own AI?

No. Other companies build the AI models. An AI model is the technology that puts together an answer. Anthropic makes Claude, OpenAI makes ChatGPT, and Google makes Gemini. These are a few examples.

Archie is the app that runs your agent on your computer. Your agent uses your routines, lists, and connected accounts.

To read your messages and write its replies, it uses the AI company you chose. You can change that choice later.

The companies charge different prices. They also have different rules for how they handle the information you send them.

Our Trust page shows what each company says about using what you send to train its AI. Read it before you choose.

When you use our free credits, your agent uses Claude through our Anthropic account, so your messages pass through our server on the way.
