Learning Library · Level 2: How Your Agent Works
2.5 What Your Agent Cannot Do
Read by Jack. Pressing play on a video in the library loads YouTube’s player, and YouTube counts that play. What your agent will not do on a website, how buying works if you switch it on, and how to stop your agent.
Buying, and a hard limit on what your agent spends
- Buying is off until you switch it on, under Computer control on the Connections tab. When you do, the limit for one order starts at $50, and you can change it.
- Your agent never types a card you pay with, so your card has to be saved at the shop already.
- The limit is checked against the price your agent reads on the page. For a ceiling nobody can get past, use a card from your bank that works at one shop, with its own limit.

Are there things my agent cannot do?
Yes. Some limits are built into Archie.
Your agent cannot run code or a command on your computer. It cannot make a phone call or send a text on its own.
If you let it use websites, it will not type a password, a card you pay with, or a sign-in code. It stops and lets you take over.
You must handle bank transfers and contract signatures yourself. Do not ask your agent to do them.
Buying is off unless you turn it on. If you turn it on, you choose the stores it may buy from. You also set a limit for each order and a limit for each week or month.
Even with it turned on, your agent still asks before each order.
The spending check uses the price your agent reads on the page. If the store adds a charge at the last step, the final price can be higher than your limit.
For a hard limit, use a card from your bank that only works at one store and stops at an amount you pick.
These limits do not stop AI from making mistakes. You still need to review its drafts.
To stop your agent, quit Archie. There is nowhere else it is running.
That is the end of Level 2. Next: where your information goes.
