Keeps running with the window closed#
Close Archie's window and your agent keeps working. Archie stays running in the Dock on a Mac, or by the clock on Windows, until you quit it.
- Where it is
- On a Mac, click Archie in the Dock or its icon in the menu bar to bring the window back. On Windows, click its icon by the clock.
- Limits
- Your agent runs only while Archie is running and your computer is awake. Quitting Archie switches it off.
- Quitting while an agent is running asks first.
Opens at login#
Archie opens by itself, with no window, when you sign in to your computer, so your agent is answering again after a restart.
- Where it is
- Settings, General, Open Archie at login.
- How to use it
- To turn it off, open Settings, then General, and switch off Open Archie at login.
- Limits
- An update turned it on once for everyone, so check the switch if you had turned it off before.
- Once you switch it off, it stays off.

By default, press Control, Shift and Space on a Mac, or Ctrl, Alt and Space on Windows, and Archie comes forward on your last chat, ready to type.

- Your computer tells Archie only when those keys are pressed, and nothing else you type.
- On a Mac, another app using the same keys may get them first. Nothing happens when you press them? on the row says what to do.
- It brings Archie's own window forward. There is no small floating box.
When Archie is slow to open#
If Archie takes longer than usual to open, it says so. After a minute it offers Try again and Get help, and Get help starts an email to us with what it saw.

- The line after 15 seconds is on the computer only.
