Skills that search the live web
What a searching skill does, what it costs, and which AI accounts can search.

Your agent knows only what its AI model learned, up to a date, so it may answer last night's score from old memory. A searching skill goes and looks.
How a searching skill works#
It sees only the question, without your conversation, which is what lets it reach the web. A long chat cannot pull it off course, and several can run at once. The catch: your agent must pack in what it needs, and sometimes packs too little.
What a search costs#
About 2 to 4 cents a search, billed to your AI account, with no separate subscription. At most five searches a job unless a skill's page says otherwise; Deep Research asks for twenty, so it is slower and costs more than the Researcher.
When today's news comes back wrong#
Nothing installed could look it up. Add the Researcher for quick facts, or Deep Research for something you will act on.
