The plan with the AI included#
For $59 a month or $599 a year, Archie comes with $25 of Claude usage each month, so you need no AI account of your own.
- Where it is
- Offered when you choose a plan in Archie, beside the plan where you connect your own AI account.
- How to use it
- Choose a plan in Archie.
- Pick the one with the AI included.
- Limits
- Your agent will not read your email or your texts on this plan. Both work once you connect an AI account of your own.
- The $25 refills each paid month and nothing rolls over. When it is used, your agent pauses until next month or until you connect your own AI account.
- What you write passes through our server on the way to Anthropic. The server records what each request cost, never what it said, and keeps no copy.
- Free credits you have left end when the plan starts.
A 14-day trial on your own AI account#
When a computer has used its free credits, you can still try Archie for 14 days by connecting an AI account of your own.
- Where it is
- Archie offers it when the free credits cannot be claimed on your computer.
- How to use it
- Connect an AI account of your own when Archie offers the 14 days.
- Archie checks that the key works, then starts the trial.
- Limits
- You pay your AI company for what your agent uses during the 14 days.
- Archie still checks your plan, checks for updates and reads the add-on store during the trial. Your conversations do not pass through us.
- It is offered only after the free credits are used up on that computer.
What Archie costs, on screen#
During a free trial, a strip at the bottom of the window says what Archie costs afterward, and the Account page's Your plan row says the same.
- Where it is
- The strip at the bottom of the Archie window during a trial, with Get a plan. On the Account page, under Sign-in, the Your plan row, with See plans.
- How to use it
- Press Get a plan on the strip, or See plans on the Your plan row, to open the plan chooser.
- Limits
- The strip and the row never name the plan with the AI included. The chooser behind Get a plan and See plans does.
- Archie for Teams has no free tier. It is $99 a month or $999 a year, on an AI account of your own.
- The number of answers left on the free credits is an estimate, since one long document costs as much as many short questions.
- The free credits may be switched off, so the credits line may not appear.
Ask what Archie costs#
Ask your agent what Archie costs or the cheapest way to keep going, and Archie answers from its own price list without asking the AI.
- Where it is
- In your agent's chat.
- How to use it
- Type a short question, such as "What does Archie cost?"
- From your phone
- Ask from Archie Mobile or a chat app, and the answer arrives like any reply.
- Limits
- The question has to be about Archie, the AI, or your plan. "What do we charge for a unit?" goes to your agent as usual.
- Only your own typed question. A teammate's question goes to the agent.
- Asked how much is left, it says the count and the day, never a price.
- At about three answers left on the free credits, one line under a reply says so, once until the balance goes up.
Add your AI account after buying a plan#
Buy a plan without the AI in it, and Archie asks for your AI account next, so your first agent starts as soon as it is made.
- Where it is
- The Add your AI account screen, right after you buy a plan and before Archie opens. Later, it is Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Saved keys.
- How to use it
- Pick your AI company, or press Show me how for the steps to get a key.
- Paste the key and press Save and open Archie.
- Or press Not now, and Archie asks again the next time it opens.
- Limits
- It saves an AI account you already have. Show me how walks you through getting one from the AI company.
- Your agents cannot answer anybody until an AI account is saved.
- Archie for Teams never includes the AI.
- Archie Mobile has no checkout, so this happens on the computer only.
Free on your own AI account, 20 jobs a day#
Paste a key from an AI company and Archie opens for free, with every skill and routine, up to 20 jobs a day. A plan takes the limit off.
- Where it is
- Paste the key when Archie first asks for one, or on your agent's Setup tab, under AI account.
- How to use it
- Make a key at an AI company such as Anthropic or OpenAI.
- Paste it into Archie when it asks, or on your agent's Setup tab, under AI account.
- From your phone
- Archie Mobile is not included; it needs a plan or a free trial that is still running.
- Limits
- 20 jobs a day. A job is a reply to you, a routine running, or an email it reacts to, and the count starts again at midnight.
- Routines and the mail and text watches stop at 15, so the last 5 jobs of the day are yours.
- Free covers one agent, checked when you add one. A plan runs up to ten.
- Archie only. Archie for Teams has nothing free.
Your plan follows your Otian account#
A plan lives on your Otian account, so signing in on another computer gets the same plan.
- Limits
- Only the plan follows you. Your agents are files on the computer, and a backup file is how they move.
- Add-ons are added again on a new computer.
- The free starter credits are counted per computer and do not follow the account.
What happens when a plan ends#
A plan you stop runs to the end of the period you paid for. Nothing on your computer is deleted, and what opens next depends on your edition and key.
- Where it is
- On the Account page, under Your plan, press Manage plan.
- How to use it
- Save a backup first, on the Account page, under Backups.
- On the Account page, under Your plan, press Manage plan to stop it.
- Limits
- On Archie with an AI key saved, Archie keeps opening at 20 jobs a day. Without a saved key, it asks for one.
- Archie for Teams has nothing free, so it asks for a plan.
- Every agent you made stays and keeps working. Adding one past the free allowance of one agent is refused.
- Save a backup before you stop. The screen that asks for a plan also has Save a backup of your agents.
