Reminders on the to-do list#
A reminder you ask for also goes on your to-do list; tick it off and the reminder is not said, and deleting it in one place removes both.
- Where it is
- On the Dashboard's to-do list, on the Calendar, and on the reminder's card in the chat.
- How to use it
- Ask your agent to remind you of something.
- To drop it, press Delete under the reply that set it, on the Dashboard, on the Calendar, or on the card when it goes off.
- From your phone
- In Archie Mobile on iPhone, swipe left on the to-do list or press Delete on the Calendar.
- Limits
- Only on an agent with the Task Manager add-on.
- Promises caught from texts show on the list only with Commitment Keeper as well.
- Nobody has watched it in the Archie window yet.
Remind me later#
When a reminder goes off, Remind me later offers in an hour, this evening or tomorrow, each with its time on the button, or another time in your words.
- Where it is
- On the reminder's card in the chat.
- How to use it
- When a reminder goes off, press Remind me later.
- Pick In an hour, This evening, Tomorrow or Another time, or press Back.
- Limits
- Nobody has watched it in the Archie window yet.
Your agent works while you are away#
Your agent runs routines, reads new mail, and reports to you with nobody watching, for as many hours as your computer is on and Archie is open.
- From your phone
- Routine reports and replies reach your chat app or Archie Mobile while the computer running Archie is on.
- Limits
- Your computer has to be on with Archie open. While it is off, your agent answers nothing.
- Archie has no working-hours setting. The hours are whenever your computer is on and Archie is open.
- A routine can wake a sleeping computer. A computer that is shut down stays off.
- Mail that arrived while the computer was off is read when it is back on, within a limit.
Morning list#
For a line of work Archie has a setup for, your agent can send what is on today each morning, built from your lists without asking an AI.
- Where it is
- On the Routines tab, the Morning list row has its switch. Your agent also offers it at the end of your first evening.
- How to use it
- Say yes when your agent offers it at the end of your first evening, or switch on Morning list on the Routines tab.
- Or say "send me the morning list" in the chat.
- Press Another time under the offer to pick a time before noon, or say "send me the morning list at 6:30am".
- To stop it, press Stop on the list, or say "stop the morning list".
- From your phone
- It arrives in your chat with your agent, and Archie Mobile's Routines screen has the same Morning list switch.
- Limits
- Only for the lines of work Archie has a setup for: portable restrooms, home trades, event trailers and real estate.
- It comes only after you say yes, and only on mornings with something on it.
- It needs Archie running and your computer awake at some point between its time and noon. A computer asleep until after noon gets none that day.
- It goes only to your own chat with your agent. Your team does not see it.
Waking the computer for a routine#
A routine set for seven in the morning arrives at seven, even if your computer was asleep. Archie wakes it a few minutes before, runs it, and lets it sleep.
- Where it is
- On the Routines tab, a routine that missed a run while your computer slept shows Wake this computer. Press it, then Set this up.
- How to use it
- On the Routines tab, open a routine that missed a run while your computer slept.
- Press Wake this computer, then Set this up.
- On a Mac, type your password in macOS's own box. Archie never sees what you type.
- On Windows it is one press, with nothing to approve.
- Limits
- It wakes a sleeping computer. One that is shut down stays off, so choose Sleep instead of Shut Down.
- On a Mac, setting it up asks for an administrator's password once.
- On Windows, the power plan has to allow wake timers. If it does not, the routine shows the steps to change it.
- Only a routine set for a time of day wakes your computer. One that runs every few minutes does not.
Missed routines run when the computer wakes#
A routine due while your computer was asleep runs when it wakes, as long as that is the same morning, afternoon, or evening. Past that, its row says it missed.
- Where it is
- The line under the Routines tab's title says this, and a routine that missed a run says so on its row.
- Limits
- Past noon for a morning, 6:00 PM for an afternoon, or midnight for an evening, the run is recorded as missed and not run.
- After your computer sleeps through several of a day's times, the routine runs the latest one, once.
- Routines run from the computer running Archie. A computer that is shut down runs nothing.
One routine at several times a day#
A routine can run at several set times a day, up to 24, like 9:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon.
- Where it is
- On the Routines tab, open a routine and press Add a time. You can also set the times in the chat.
- How to use it
- Open the routine on the Routines tab.
- Press Add a time and pick the time.
- Or tell your agent in the chat, like "run it at 9:00am and 5:00pm".
- From your phone
- Archie Mobile shows every time a routine runs at and can move any one of them.
- Limits
- Up to 24 set times a day. More often than that is an interval, like every 30 minutes, which counts from when it starts.
- Each time it runs counts as a job. On the free tier, at most 15 of a routine's runs happen in a day.
- After your computer sleeps through several of a day's times, it runs the latest one, once.
Reminders#
Tell your agent to remind you at a time, and it does, in your own words, at that minute, without asking an AI anything to read it back.
- Where it is
- In the chat. Reminders also show on the Jobs tab and the Calendar tab, and on the to-do list on an agent with the To-Do List.
- How to use it
- Say "remind me at 3pm to call the dentist".
- When it goes off, press Done, Remind me later, or Delete.
- To cancel early, press Delete under the reply that set it.
- From your phone
- Archie Mobile notifies you once notifications are on in its Settings, and a chat app shows the buttons where it can draw them. Otherwise a reminder waits in the chat until you open it.
- Limits
- One reminder is one moment. Something every week is a routine.
- Quiet hours do not hold a reminder back, since you named the minute.
- One whose minute passed while your computer slept arrives when it wakes, saying when it was for. Past a week it is dropped.
A reminder that stands down when the person writes back#
Make a reminder conditional, like "remind me Thursday to chase the quote unless Ellen has replied". If Ellen emails or texts in first, it is dropped and Archie tells you.
- Where it is
- In the chat. The condition shows beside the reminder on the Jobs tab and in the list.
- How to use it
- Add "unless Ellen has replied" to a reminder you ask for, naming the person.
- Limits
- It notices only that Ellen wrote. A note from her about something else also drops the reminder.
- It needs a mailbox connected or the Mac text watch. With neither, the reminder simply arrives at its time, and your agent says so.
- A name matches as a whole word, and an address matches exactly.
Alerts on your computer#
When your agent posts on its own, like a reminder or a routine's report, your computer shows an alert with the agent's name and the first line.
- Where it is
- Settings, General, Show alerts on this computer.
- How to use it
- It is on from the start. To turn it off, open Settings, then General, and switch off Show alerts on this computer.
- From your phone
- This alert is on your computer only. Archie Mobile has its own notifications, once you turn them on in its Settings.
- Limits
- It shows only while Archie is open behind your other windows, on a computer that is on and awake.
- Clicking the alert does not open the conversation.
- Archie cannot tell whether your computer blocks its alerts, so the Settings row says where your computer's own switch is.
- A reminder within 60 seconds of a conversation ending, on an agent with a chat app, raises no alert.
Today's Calendar skips an empty day#
On a morning with nothing on your calendar, the store's Today's Calendar routine sends nothing and uses none of your AI. Press Run now and it still answers.
- Where it is
- The Today's Calendar routine, on your agent's Routines tab.
- Limits
- Only Today's Calendar as the store ships it. One you wrote with the same name, or one set to do more than read the calendar, runs as before.
- A calendar that cannot be read within 20 seconds is not an empty day, and the routine runs.
- Other routines do not skip empty days.
